HL-A: laser cutting machine with automatic loading
Built to keep a high-power laser cutting when nobody is standing next to it.
Loading/unloading units and multi-level storage towers that keep a high-power laser cutting through the night shift.
- Unattendednight & weekend shifts
- HL-Fcompatible series
- Retrofitadd later
A 20–40 kW laser cuts faster than an operator can load it. The HL-A system adds automatic sheet loading, part/skeleton unloading and an optional multi-level storage tower to an HL-F laser, so the machine can keep cutting between shifts with one operator supervising.
Highlights
More parts per shift
Loading and unloading run in parallel with cutting, so the beam is on for more of the shift.
Fewer people per machine
One operator supervises the cell instead of handling every sheet.
Grow in steps
Start with an exchange table; add loading, unloading and storage when volume grows.
Vacuum-suction loading with sheet separation and double-sheet detection
Fork or comb-type unloading of cut sheets and skeletons
Storage tower with multiple material shelves
One job list and one operator screen with the laser CNC
Fenced cell with light curtains
Laser storage tower system for lights-out laser cutting on night and weekend shifts

Frequently asked questions
Do I need automation with a 20 kW laser?
In most cases yes. On thin and medium sheet a high-power laser cuts a sheet in minutes, so manual loading and unloading becomes the bottleneck. Automation is what turns extra laser power into extra parts per shift.
Can I add automation later?
Yes. HL-F machines are prepared for the HL-A system, so you can start with an exchange table and add loading, unloading and storage when volume grows.
How much floor space does a storage tower need?
Is automatic loading worth it, and what is the payback?
It pays when the laser regularly waits for sheet handling — typical for high-power machines on thin and medium sheet and for multi-shift work. Payback depends on your beam-on time, labour cost and shifts; see is automatic loading worth it? and run your numbers in the calculator.
